Billy Treacy is a singer/songwriter and modern Balladeer from Dublin’s Inner City.
His major influences range from Shane MacGowan/Pogues/Dubliners to Sam Cooke/Roy Orbison/Van Morrison & Bob Dylan.
Currently recording his second album with his band The Scope he plays gigs constantly as part of duo’s, trio’s, full band featuring Fiddle & Banjo & Cajon players as well as solo.
Over the past few years Billy has toured Scandinavia and The Netherlands on numerous occasions and in the past has played in The States and The U.K.
His last album “Head Above Water” featured the viral videos “Temple Bar” and “Woe!” and received airplay throughout Ireland and other countries.
He has performed live on RTÉ Television and numerous radio stations in Dublin and around the Country.
Last year Billy Treacy & The Scope performed in front of 83,000 people on the hallowed turf of Croke Park debuting there single “Moving This Way” which highlights the problems that Ireland as a country faces.
Venues played include Croke Park, The Olympia, Whelans & many more.
The amount of artists that Billy has played with or opened up for reads as a real who’s who of Irish Musicians including, Shane MacGowan, Aslan, The Fun Lovin Criminals, Liam O’Maonlai and many more.
